By March 21, 2019 No Comments

On Friday, May 3, 2019, Temple Health and Bioscience District (THBD) will host its third annual medical technology conference and pitch competition, “Growing to Success: Startup and Beyond,” taking place at the Hilton Garden Inn in Temple, Texas. The only nonprofit incubator of its kind in the state of Texas, THBD offers startups in the biotech and life science industry a comprehensive lab and office facility with state-of-the-art equipment, startup resources and mentoring.

The conference is and always will be free to attend, and is a valuable resource for those seeking startup assistance and networking opportunities.

“The mission of the Temple Health and Bioscience District is to grow twenty-first century jobs by fostering bioscience education, research, and healthcare across Central Texas,” said Tami Annable, Executive Director of THBD. “One of the many ways we support this mission is by hosting our free, annual medical technology conference and pitch competition each May. ‘Growing to Success: Startup and Beyond’ brings together health-related professionals for a day of learning, networking and collaboration. We want our central Texas community to know about the exciting things happening here in Temple and within the growing biotech corridor.”

The conference features a wealth of notable, experienced speakers in the medical technology, medical device, biotechnology, and health technology spaces who work with startups and investors. Building on last year’s conference, this year’s programming will focus on the next stages of developing and commercializing a business. The event also offers multiple opportunities to network with key industry contacts.

THBD invites entrepreneurs and startups to compete in the pitch competition for early-stage startups in biotechnology and health-related industries.  A panel of judges will select ten applicants to present and compete for the chance to win up to $10,000 in funding. Biotech and health-related startups may apply to participate in the pitch competition through April 8, 2019 at 5 p.m. Find the application online here.

Registration for ‘Growing to Success: Startup and Beyond’ is now available through the event date on Friday, May 3, 2019 or until capacity has been reached. Registration is available at bit.ly/THBD2019. We hope to see you there!
