Key Issues for Health Care Startups in Employment Law Compliance
One of the biggest mistakes that startup founders make is not involving legal counsel early in the life of the business — including in the area of employment law compliance. Emphasizing the impact on health care startups, this installment of the Texas Health CoLab Learning Series will provide an overview of such employment issues, including wage and hour compliance, classification of workers, the impact of restrictive covenants and more.
About the speaker:
Jason Storck, J.D., is a partner in Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati’s employment law practice. He specializes in representing employers in federal and state court litigation and before administrative agencies regarding claims of discrimination harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, misappropriation of trade secrets and unfair labor practice charges.
In addition to his litigation practice, Storck advises employers on a range of topics, including arbitration, discrimination, harassment and family and medical leave. Storck is board-certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is a member of the American, Austin, Dallas and Washington State bar associations and is a barrister of the Robert W. Calvert American Inn of Court. Prior to joining Wilson Sonsini, Storck practiced labor and employment law at Baker Botts in Dallas. He also served as a law clerk for the Honorable A. Joe Fish and as a judicial intern for the Honorable Wendell P. Gardner Jr.
